The
state of Gujarat witnessed vitiated communal atmosphere
in the year 1985 when communal divide was being created
on the basis of community and religion. The communal
violence continued for months together and under the
prevailing venomous atmosphere 'Lok-hit Movement' was
launched by a team of dedicated people who visualised
the need for a newspaper with positive approach to neutralise
the prevailing negative conditions. The 'Lok-hit Prakashan
Sarvajanik Trust', managed by muslim community, published
first issue of 'Gujarat Today' on 29th July-1991. |
