Constructive activities & achievements. 

1.  	Brought about significant break on mischievous activities of divisive forces.
	‘Gujarat Today’ daily definitely achieved this object to a great extent. As a 
	result, ever since this daily is being published the vernacular dailies cannot 
	take liberty of reporting concocted stories as used to be done earlier. It is a 
	significant  achievement for the benefit of the community. ‘Gujarat Today’ 
	motivated the community and ‘Lok-hit Movement’ extended support and 
	logistic to translate the feelings of the community in to action.

2.	Outcome need not be evaluated in terms of monetary gain or loss. When 
	this news paper aims at ameliorating the general condition of the community 
	it is most important to continue it even at losses. Its success can be reckoned 
	in terms of:

(i)	The spread of education, encouraging, providing information and financial 
	assistance for the same.
(ii)	Empowers the community in social & educational fields.
(iii)	Experimenting filling vacuum of leadership.
(iv)	Succeeded in exposing & resisting the perpetual exercise of communal 
	organizations& allied  forces in making Gujarat - a laboratory.
(v)	Provided a consensus platform disregard of sectarian differences.
(vi)	Coordinated & provided logistic to extend assistance to people affected in 
	natural calamities as well as man-made calamities and set a trend in the 
	community to be active whenever such undesirable eventualities occur in future.
(vii)	Instrumental in raising voice against draconian laws like TADA that culminated 
	into scraping of such acts provides legal Aid to victimised people.
(viii)	Boosted the community’s morale against depressed condition due to atrocities 
	by communal  forces and connivance of the administration.
(ix)	Providing information to  rationalist & righteous citizens of the country and 
	foreigners whenever required. This information was utilized by them to justify 
	their “movement” and  “good cause”. 
(x)	There was no journalist even for name’s sake amongst the Muslims in 
	Gujarati journalism. It produced & continues to produce professional journalists 
	in the community whereby a new avenue of employment is opened. So far more 
	than 35 journalists owe their existence to ‘Gujarat Today’.
(xi)	It facilitates, provides infrastructure  and  opportunity to an individual or an 
	organization to serve the community in constructive manner. This is a 
	platform where work is carried out activated by senses and not by sentiments. 
	As a result it provides a cure against sectarian and parochial approach in any 
	good work. People who want to do work in the fields of education, social or 
	economic by using their best brain, such people can join this platform and derive 
	optimum return of their inputs in terms of manpower and money.

Impediment in the movement – Cash Scarce

1.	Meticulously pre-planned strategy of the divisive forces, supported by 
	establishment, requires persistent efforts to control & thwart the mischief.
	The object is not achieved only by having newspaper alone as the nefarious 
	activities of the divisive forces is  not momentary but a longterm plan. The 
	scope and ambit of damage created is so wide-spread that the fight against 
	it requires a continuous and persistent movement with awareness and total 
	involvement  of the community.

2.	Daily newspaper can generate enormous fund if resorts to unfair practice. 
	Ordinarily newspapers are owned either by big commercial or industrial 
	establishments. If loss incurred it is not material for them as it is set off from 
	gain in other concerns of the establishment. Even if loss is there in newspaper 
	such loss is temporary. In due course they resort to bargaining tactic and derive 
	other lucrative gains. Whereas the ‘Gujarat Today’ is established with sacrosanct 
	laid down policy and principle of being free from any sort of malpractice. 
	Gujarat Today has everlasting neat and clean policy. It avoids yellow journalism, 
	publishing vulgarity and indecency, factors that are common in the world of 
	journalism. It is therefore obvious for it to suffer financial crunch. This daily 
	is wedded to principles of fairness, honesty and transparency. 

3.	It is a well-known fact that daily newspaper industry is the only industry 
	where cost of production is higher than the sailing cost.

4.	Gujarat Today started with the community’s capital of Rs. 30 lacs which has 
	appreciated to the tune of more than Rs. 3 crores. By joint venture of 
	movement 4552 students have been provided with financial assistance of 
	Rs. 1.84 crores for education. ‘Gujarat Today’ motivated the readers by citing 
	Quranic dictates of deriving Sawab & Sawabe-Zaria, as a result fund of 
	Rs. 61 lacs was collected and 115 patients of heart and kidney were 
	operated upon. The movement has assisted numbers of education institutions 
	in recieving Grant-in-Aid worth Crores of rupees and it is continue. 

5.	The property of the trust is in the name of trust itself and not in any individual’s 
	name Nothing from the funds goes to trustees. The earnings is totally utilized 
	for the specific mission of constructive service to the society. The surplus fund 
	if generated would also be utilized for welfare activities in the community, 
	particularly for education. Deficit has to be met if this daily is to continue.
