It is desired that a grass root movement with total involvement of the people 
themselves should take place. With this object in mind, Taluka-level committees 
have been formed to translate the movement of awareness in education and 
empowering the community in the field of economy and social (including 
ensuring peaceful environment by maintaining rapport with other communities), 
Such a Taluka  committee is headed by an enthusiast social worker of the taluka .
It is seen that all the villages of a taluka are represented in the Taluka Committee 
including youth & women members. This exercise experimented with Taluka as a 
unit would be widened at District-level and subsequently at the State-level as to 
achieve holistic approach of this movement. The necessary data collected by such 
efforts shall be an invaluable input to be utilized for more qualitative work.
The object of this exercise is to reach out the benefits of Lok-hit Movement at grass 
root. By such movement infrastructure is created to facilitate More people to get 
involved in carrying out activities in the fields of social, educational and 
economic-upliftment.

Indispensability of ‘Gujarat Today’ 

1	Visualize scenario with ‘Gujarat Today’ in 2002 & that without ‘Gujarat Today’ 
	in 1969 & 1985 Riots.
2	The Newspaper managed by private concern has vested interest but managed 
	by public charitable trust has no vested interest. It aims at justice and social 
	upliftment.
3	Through this newspaper proper information goes to proper place.
4	The world media, social activists, foreigners, journalists, whosoever wanted 
	information used to contact ‘Gujarat Today’ for its accessibility and being 
	non-biased Muslim managed newspaper.
5	Information and feed-back about true situation prevailing in Gujarat was 
	provided to the inquiry commissions, trusts, magazines, newspapers in 
	India as well as abroad.
6	It was because of  Gujarat Today  the  ‘State’ and entire ‘Country’ was  made 
	aware of truth.

Needs of the day

1. 	Gap of widening between Muslims and others in terms of social, educational 
	and economical  conditions. As a result of partition since independence 
	the community is left without leadership. Hence the level of awareness in the 
	community steadily kept declining. In comparison to this other communities 
	kept on progressing. In the South India where this awareness was created 
	the Community could keep pace with their brethrens in other community. 
	No such exercise took place in Gujarat in last more than 50 years. The 
	'Lok-hit Movement' and 'Gujarat Today' with whatever limitations, has taken 
	up this task the result appears to be much encouraging.

2. 	Situation worst in rural area and inequalities increasing faster in urban 
	areas. Due to larger geographical area, shortage of funds and manpower 
	the gap in rural area is alarming. The 'Lok-hit Movement' has a platform 
	and well equipped infrastructure to address this problem. It motivates 
	people who have capacity to work by making use of mind. If such is  the 
	approach, it will lead to optimum return of the efforts put in a programme. 
	If such concerted efforts are made, given a superior genetic background of 
	the community, it is all likely that the community may surpass others.

3. 	Community infested with sectarian differences. Certain works are carried 
	out in different fields by various organizations. But unfortunately they 
	being sectarian,the benefits are not only restricted to a few among the 
	community but outcome in terms of fund used also having no concrete 
	effect in bridging the gap. It is sad to conclude that in a sectarian approach 
	of undertaking a community work not only the funds are being frittered away 
	but bitterness is generated among the left over section of the community, 
	which divides the Milla.

4. 	It is not a time to sit on fence and allow community to deteriorate further 
	but those bestowed with brain and wealth to come forward and help the 
	community to come out of lethargy and inertia.

Remedies : 

1.	Accelerate the spread of education – Quality education so as to keep 
	pace with others.
2.	A need to have a platform providing opportunities to serve the entire 
	community without differentiating on sects and maslak. ‘Lok-hit Movement’ 
	& ‘Gujarat Today’ jointly are capable to meet this need. But they by 
	themselves are not capable to deliver adequate results without involvement 
	of the well wishers of the community. Any individual or organization desires 
	to devote manpower or spend money for the community’s cause of 
	upliftment ‘Lok-hit Movement’ & ‘Gujarat Today’ provides a platform with 
	necessary infrastructure and logistic. Lack of infrastructure for social activities 
	in the far-flung areas is one of the major causes for backwardness. Individual 
	or an organization having a zeal to work can avail the facilities provided and 
	‘Lok-hit Movement’ & ‘Gujarat Today’ would ever be ready to assist them and 
	extend cooperation.

3.  	'Lok-hit Movement' has  not associated itself to any particular individual, 
	organization, sect or political party. It does not represent any sectarian 
	or parochial interest. It is truly 'Lok-hit Movement', which indirectly unites 
	Muslims apart from maintaining cordial relations with other communities. 
	In short it aims at converging divergent activities for constructive and 
	coherent work. Gujarat Today & Lok-hit Movement having infrastructure 
	and experience of more than 2 decades can achieve this object. The 
	economic condition of the community in the State itself is short of capacity. 
	External assistance can sustain such movement.
